Made in USSR Aircraft radio receiver US-9 “Solovej” is based on the US receiver BC-348N.
9 lamp medium-shortwave receiver, almost an exact copy of the American RCA BC-348 (AN / ARR-11) airborne receiver, which was installed, in particular, on B-29 bombers and on Catalina flying boats supplied to the USSR.
The technical documentation for the US-9 was prepared at the Gorky Radio Measuring Equipment Plant (Plant No. 326, Frunze Plant). Serial production began there in 1948. It lasted until 1987 at several factories. Thus, the BC-348 / US-9 was produced from 1938 to 1987 – longer than any other radio-technical product in the world. In total, more than 50 thousand US-9 units were produced.
Coverage 0,2-0,5 and 1,5-18 MHz in six ranges. AM/CW receiver for airborne purposes. Intermediate frequency 915 kHz. Powered by on-board network, a DC 27 V or AC 115 V to 400 Hz, via the built-umformer. In later versions, instead of worth umformera transistor voltage converter. Fans put in its place the transformer from the mains power supply 220 V 50 Hz. Power Consumption – 35 Watts. Dimensions – 245 × 465 × 275 mm. Weight – 17 kg.
